Hello Teachers, Students and Parents!
This is Danna from the ADNOC STEM for Life Team!
As I’m sure you know, COP28 is being hosted in the UAE this year. To bring awareness to this momentous event, ADNOC launched the STEM for Life COP28 UAE Challenge. Students were asked to design a coffee/tea cup that would bring awareness to the impact that individuals can have on climate change.
We received over a thousand entries, all of which were incredibly creative. However, the top six designs were chosen based on a balance of inventiveness and feasibility. A big congratulations to the winners - both to the students and their schools - of the STEM for Life COP28 UAE Challenge:
Salma Al Blooshi, Ittihad National Private School Khalifa
Jane Jerushlin, St. Mary’s Catholic High School
Hasib Jaan, Grace Valley Indian School
Rashed Almesafri, Applied Technology High School
Aaron Lee, Cranleigh Abu Dhabi
Gaurika Gautham, Delhi Private School Sharjah
As the Top 6, these students are recipients of a high-value mentorship with graphic artists at ADNOC. Moreover, the winning designs will be printed on single-use cups that will be stocked nationwide at ADNOC Oasis stores during COP28 UAE! How amazing are these prizes?!
The STEM for Life program represents ADNOC’s commitment to bringing awareness of the value of STEM subjects to youth in the UAE. Students, teachers, schools and parents can all benefit from our programs. Not only will you learn new things and expand your network, you’ll be part of a movement that’s stirring up the next generation of STEM leaders to blaze trails of positive change in the UAE and the world!
The ADNOC STEM for Life Talented Youth in Industry (TYI) Club is one such program that offers a menu of exciting activities, challenges and competitions that stimulate problem-solving through the application of STEM-related knowledge.
Only teachers in the UAE can register for the program. Go ahead and email the words “Sign me up!” to support@adnocstem.ae and I’ll help you register as an ADNOC TYI Program Teacher. If you’re a student or a parent, encourage the teachers you know to join the cohort.
