General Questions

How many students can register?
There is no limit to the number of students that can register. Schools can register as many students as they like.
Where can I find all the details about the challenge?
For details about the ADNOC STEM for Life Future of ENERGYai Schools Challenge, visit the "Featured Challenges" section of the site.
How can I submit the student list?
You can submit the student list by filling out the Excel template. If you haven't received the template, request it from support@adnocstem.ae. Once completed, please send the file to the same email.
Can students work in groups?
Yes! Students can form teams of up to 3 members to work on their projects.

Participation Registration

Does the competition vary according to grade level?
Students will compete within their respective age groups to ensure fairness. Age groups are:
  • Cycle 1
  • Cycle 2
  • Cycle 3
Do teachers need to register as mentors or as participants?
Teachers register as mentors. Their role is to lead the STEM club at their school and guide students throughout the competition.
Should students register when they are ready to submit their project video?
Students must create an account on the ADNOC STEM for Life portal (https://adnocstem.ae) as soon as they decide to participate. They will use the portal to access the program materials, workbook, and calendar.
Can students participate in the competition even if their school is not involved?
Students must register through their school and under a teacher's guidance to participate.
What if my school is not running a STEM club? Can we still participate?
Schools without a STEM club can still register students for the competition. Teachers can support students independently, and students can join the online sessions for guidance.
Will I receive recognition for participating in the challenge?
Everyone who participated in the challenge will receive a certificate.

Submitting Competition Entry

When is the submission deadline?
The final deadline for submitting competition entries is 25 April 2025.
What is the format of the submission?
Students must submit a maximum 3-minute long video explaining their project, its purpose, and how it applies Artificial Intelligence (AI) to solve a real-world problem. The video should be clear, concise, and well-structured.
How do students submit their entries?
Students must upload their project video through the ADNOC STEM for Life portal under the "Submit Your Challenge" section.
Can students enter the competition as a team?
Yes! Students can participate individually or in teams of up to three members. Each team should assign one member to submit the final project.
What if a student needs help with their submission?
If students need guidance on the submission process, they can refer to the competition workbook on the ADNOC STEM for Life portal's Future of ENERGYai challenge page or contact support@adnocstem.ae for assistance.

Missed Sessions

I missed a session; how can I catch up on the challenge?
No worries! All sessions are recorded—email support@adnocstem.ae to request access to the recordings.

Final Event

Will all schools be invited to the final event in Abu Dhabi?
The final event will be held on 18 May 2025 in person in Abu Dhabi, with senior ADNOC representatives present. Only the winning teams will be invited to attend.
What happens at the Final event?
The finalists will present their projects to industry experts, and the winners will be selected and awarded.
Are there any prizes for the winning teams?
As part of the competition prizes, each member of the winning teams will receive an official certificate, medal, and an iPad.
